NCRF believes safe, decent, affordable housing is a right, not a privilege. Additionally, NCRF believes that responsible, sustainable homeownership is a time-tested way for people to accumulate assets and lift themselves out of poverty. In support of these principles, NCRF makes short-term loans (three years or less) to create or preserve affordable housing. Economic Development
Community revitalization must include the provision of commercial services and job creation. Low-income and underserved communities often lack ready access to markets offering healthy food, pharmacies, banks and other retail establishments that residents of wealthier communities take for granted.
